It is agreed by skilled hardwood floor professionals that a Site-Finished Floor (flooring that is installed, sanded, and finished ON-SITE) is by far the most beautiful floor a homeowner will ever have. This is, of course, in comparison to a factory, pre-finished flooring (flooring that has been milled and finished in the factory prior to installation) which has become rather trendy over the past few years. With site-finishing, your floor will look more and more beautiful with time and is evidence of true craftsmanship! The beauty of a site-finished floor compared to a factory, pre-finished floor lies in the sanding techniques and finishes used. On an average, a site-finished floor takes about 4-5 days longer to install and finish than a factory, pre-finished floor. But the trade off is in having a floor that continues to look prettier with age as the wood and finish take on a deeper and richer appearance.
